In order to process design more efficiently there is a couple steps to look at.
For one you need to ask questions.
By asking questions the designer (you) can gather the right information that’s needed for the design. One of the biggest questions is who is the user and who’s going to be looking at this design. What is the purpose of the design? How will the user perceive this information? How long will the user be on the site/book/etc? What is the best font, size, pictures?
Create organized information.
In order to put this new found information into good use there needs to be some organization. Always have the user audience in mind in every step. This organization will be like a map for your design. It will help you along with the design.
Step three- Personas and Scenarios
The book talks about making up scenarios and personas of users that will use the design. I think personally test trials of an unbiased user is the best way to figure out how well the design will be user friendly and work the way it was designed.
Last step- Develop prototypes and testing
This is where the prototype is created in order test properly. The prototype could be a model, website, white board presentation or even a slideshow of the design. Once the prototype has been created then the testing begins. I think a proper sampling of people will create the most accurate feedback.
The background is eye catching and attractive. Your ost is clear, concise and to the point. You did a thorough job explaining the steps. wonderful post.
